TJ and the Time Stumblers by Bill Myers

TJ Finkelstein is an average 7th grade girl who has just moved from Minnesota to Malibu, California.  The first day of her move, odd things begin to happen.  She hears voices in her room and wonders if her new home is haunted.  Her first day at her new school is full of blunders.  She wonders if she will survive junior high.  That afternoon she finds herself face to face with two boys, Herby and Tuna, from the 23rd century who are studying her.  To them, she is a famous historical figure.  As Herby and Tuna try to help TJ with their gadgets from the future, more and more problems arise.

TJ and the TIme Stumblers is bound to be a hit series with pre-teens.  They will be able to readily identify with TJ’s social awkwardness in fitting into a new school.  They will howl with laughter at the different methods that Herby and Tuna use to “help” TJ.  I found the book to be light, but very fun reading.  My two daughters loved the story.
